About Nicole

Nicole Bonich is a Registered Psychotherapist at Essential Health Clinic in Vaughan, registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She works with adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, depression, shame, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Her clinical training spans psychodynamic, relational, and attachment-based psychotherapy.

What sets Nicole apart is brainspotting, a focused technique that uses eye position to access and process stored trauma and stress. She also draws on somatic and emotionally focused interventions when talk therapy alone is not reaching the issue. The body holds what the mind avoids. Nicole works with both.

The process

An assessment first. Not a commitment.

A four-step workflow that begins with listening, moves into focused clinical work, and stays coordinated with the rest of the clinic when the body needs work too.

01Welcome

An assessment, not a commitment.

The first session is for you to meet Nicole and decide whether the fit is right. She listens to your history, your current concerns, and what you want from the process. No pressure to sign on for a fixed number of sessions. Available in-person at the Vaughan clinic, or virtually if that suits you better.

What the first session covers
  • Your reason for reaching out and what brought you in now
  • Relevant history — relationships, work, family of origin, prior therapy
  • Current symptoms and how long they have been present
  • What you want from the process and what you have already tried
  • A plain explanation of how Nicole would approach the work

Most extended health plans in Ontario cover Registered Psychotherapist services under a "Psychotherapy" or "Mental Health Services" benefit, but coverage varies by plan and employer. Nicole's receipts include her CRPO registration details so you can submit them directly. Check your plan booklet for the dollar amount per session and the annual limit. Psychotherapy with an RP is not covered by OHIP.

Yes. Nicole offers secure virtual sessions for clients across Ontario. Virtual works well for ongoing weekly work, for clients with limited time, and for first responders or shift workers whose schedules make in-person difficult. Brainspotting can be done virtually with some adaptation.

Brainspotting is a focused technique that uses fixed eye position to access and process stored trauma, anxiety, and performance blocks held below the level of conscious narrative. It is most useful when talk therapy alone is not reaching the issue — when the pattern is stuck even though you can see it clearly. Nicole brings it in when the clinical picture calls for it, not as a default.

Yes. Nicole draws on attachment-based and emotionally focused work for couples navigating communication breakdowns, emotional distance, and trust repair. The frame is relational, not adversarial — the goal is to understand what is happening between you, not to assign blame.

Yes. First responder baseline assessment and active treatment support, and men's emotional development, are two of Nicole's clinical interests. Please confirm current openings when you book — Nicole joined the clinic recently and availability can shift. Reception will let you know if there is a wait.
