Essential Health Clinic

Manual Lymphatic Drainage at Essential Health

The lymphatic system has no central pump. It depends on movement, breathing, and skilled manual input to keep fluid moving. Essential Health offers two clinical lymphatic-drainage protocols: Brazilian lymphatic drainage for post-cosmetic-surgery recovery, and the LINFA Method for whole-body integration across lymphatic, fascial, and nervous systems. Five RMTs on staff are trained in Brazilian MLD; Crystal Tait is the sole LINFA-certified practitioner. All licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

What Brings You In

Concerns Manual Lymphatic Drainage at Essential Health Treats

Post-Cosmetic-Surgery Recovery

Post-Cosmetic-Surgery Recovery

Recovery after liposuction, BBL, tummy tuck, lipo 360. Firmer, more rhythmic Brazilian MLD is calibrated to your post-op stage to reduce fibrosis and protect the surgical result.

Treatments+

Brazilian lymphatic drainage applied in the first 4 to 8 weeks post-op (typically 6 to 10 sessions), with pressure and timing matched to your surgeon's protocol.

Causes+

Surgery cuts lymphatic vessels. Fluid accumulates around the surgical site and, without clearance, consolidates into fibrosis.

Drains
Lymph clears, swelling reduces, the tissue feels less held
Recovers
Post-surgical fluid clears, fibrosis risk drops with consistent early sessions
Regulates
Nervous system downregulates, the body comes out of sympathetic activation
Integrates
The body settles in the 24 to 48 hours that follow each session
Manual Lymphatic Drainage at Essential Health Process

Two protocols. One assessment-led approach.

Every first visit opens with an intake and a contraindication screen. Your RMT then recommends the protocol that fits your case: Brazilian MLD for post-surgical and contouring work, the LINFA Method when fascial restriction and nervous-system load are also part of the picture.

Step 01 · Assess
Intake before any hands-on work.

Health history, current symptoms, post-op timeline, medications, contraindication screen. Your RMT reads what your tissue presents on the day and recommends the protocol. The plan follows from the assessment, not a fixed script.

Details+
  • • Health history, current symptoms, prior care
  • • Surgical-stage assessment for post-op patients (bring your surgeon's protocol)
  • • Contraindication screen, active infection, DVT, certain cardiac/renal conditions
  • • Protocol recommendation based on what your case actually calls for
Intake before any hands-on work.
Honest Scope

When Manual Lymphatic Drainage Isn't the Right First Call

Red flags: see your physician first

Active infection, acute inflammation, untreated DVT, several cardiac and renal conditions, recent surgery without clearance, or sudden severe symptoms unlike anything you have had before. The clinical screen will surface these at intake, but if any apply, your physician is the right first call, not the clinic.

We screen at intake

Your RMT runs a contraindication screen at every first visit and at the start of every follow-up where something has changed. Full health-history disclosure is required before the first session. If the screen flags a presentation that calls for medical assessment, the recommendation is to see your physician first, then return once the underlying cause has been ruled out or treated.

If your body is also asking for fascial + nervous system work

If your body is also holding stress, tension, or nervous system overload, our signature LINFA Method combines lymphatic therapy with fascial release and nervous system regulation for a deeper reset. The LINFA Method is delivered by Crystal Tait, RMT, the sole LINFA-certified practitioner at the clinic. Read more at /treatments/massage/linfa-method/.

Steps to your first consultation.

02

Step Two

Your first session opens with intake and a contraindication screen. Your RMT then recommends the protocol that fits your case (Brazilian MLD or the LINFA Method). Sessions run 60 or 90 minutes. You leave with aftercare guidance and a recommended follow-up interval.

01

Step One

No referral required. Book online at essentialchirormt.janeapp.com or call 905-856-2299. Same-week appointments are typically available across the Brazilian-trained RMT team; the LINFA Method is exclusive to Crystal Tait.

03

Step Three

Post-cosmetic-surgery patients typically run 6 to 10 Brazilian MLD sessions across the first 4 to 8 weeks. Chronic lymphatic presentations settle into a maintenance cadence after the initial stretch. Your RMT recommends the cadence at the end of every session based on what your tissue showed that day.
