Concerns Physiotherapy Treats

Back Pain
Mechanical low-back pain that flares with sitting, lifting, or a single bad rotation. The strongest evidence base in physiotherapy points here, especially when manual work pairs with a graded loading program.
Treatments+
Hands-on mobilisation of the involved lumbar segment, soft-tissue work on the guarding muscles, and a short written exercise program dosed to your current capacity. Load progresses visit by visit.
Causes+
A restricted segment loses normal motion, the surrounding muscles tighten to protect it, and the loading pattern that overloaded it in the first place keeps re-firing until the deficit is rebuilt.
What every appointment looks like.
Every step is dialled to your assessment, presenting concern, and stage of recovery, on the day.
Your physiotherapist reviews your history, current symptoms, prior imaging, and what you have already tried. He then tests movement, strength, range of motion, and the patterns specific to your concern. The first 45 to 60 minutes are assessment. Treatment begins the same visit only after the picture is clear.
Details+
- • History, current symptoms, prior imaging
- • Movement testing for the patterns specific to your concern
- • Strength, range of motion, joint and soft-tissue palpation
- • Functional and return-to-sport tests where indicated

When Physiotherapy Isn't the Right First Call
Red flags: see your physician first
Numbness or weakness progressing down an arm or leg. Loss of bladder or bowel control. Severe sudden-onset pain after a fall, motor vehicle accident, or impact. Joint pain with fever, redness, or unexplained weight loss. Sudden, severe, or new neurological symptoms unlike anything you have had before.
We screen at intake
Your physiotherapist screens for red-flag presentations at intake. If anything in your history calls for it, the recommendation is to see your physician first. Then return for physiotherapy once the underlying cause has been ruled out or treated. Appropriate scope of practice, not a hedge.
Sometimes chiropractic or RMT is the better start
Patterns driven by a specific spinal joint restriction often respond better when chiropractic leads. Patterns driven by chronic muscular holding often respond better when registered massage therapy leads. Your physiotherapist will tell you that directly at intake if it applies.
One Registered Physiotherapist. One assessment-first standard.
Rami Singh holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Additional certifications in pelvic floor physiotherapy, dry needling, and acupuncture broaden the clinical toolkit. Care coordinates with the chiropractic and RMT teams when the assessment finds more than one driver.

Steps to your first consultation.
Step Two
Your first session runs 45 to 60 minutes. Rami reviews your history, tests movement, strength, range of motion, and the patterns specific to your concern. Treatment begins the same visit for most patients. You leave with a written exercise program and a realistic recovery timeline before the appointment ends.
Step One
No referral required. Book at essentialchirormt.janeapp.com or call 905-856-2299. Same-week appointments are typically available.
Step Three
Follow-ups run 30 to 45 minutes and build on each prior visit. Acute injuries often improve within four to eight sessions. Chronic conditions and post-surgical cases take longer. Discharge happens when your goals are met, tracked against specific clinical markers, not at an arbitrary session count.
Not sure where to start?
Start with what you notice.
You do not need to know which discipline treats your concern. We figure that out on your first visit.

I've been a patient at Essential Health for over a year. The whole team is fantastic. Dr. Becky takes her time, explains things clearly, and never rushes the appointment.
