About Sam

Sam Gucciardi is a Registered Massage Therapist regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, practising at Essential Health Clinic in Vaughan. His work centres on Brazilian lymphatic drainage for patients recovering from cosmetic procedures, post-surgical recovery, and the muscular work the body needs alongside that recovery.

Sam holds Level One Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage training but does not offer Vodder MLD in active practice — Brazilian lymphatic drainage and the broader manual-therapy toolkit are what brings patients to his table. He also holds certification in prenatal massage, giving him clinical range across fluid management and recovery care.

The process

Precise work. Measurable change.

A four-step session structure. The technique is selected after the assessment — not before.

01Assess

History first, then the body.

Sam reviews your health history, surgical background, and current symptoms before any hands-on work. For lymphatic drainage patients, he assesses fluid distribution and tissue quality to choose the right technique and pressure. For therapeutic massage patients, he evaluates restriction patterns and sets clear goals for the session. The plan is built from what he finds — not a fixed protocol.

What we check
  • Health history and surgical background (post-op timing, drains, garments)
  • Current symptoms — swelling, heaviness, pain, restricted range
  • Fluid distribution and tissue quality for lymphatic patients
  • Postural alignment and restriction patterns for pain patients
  • Manual palpation for fascial restriction and trigger points

The Vodder method is the original, internationally recognised manual lymphatic drainage technique developed for lymphoedema management and complex fluid transport. It uses very light, specific hand movements to move fluid through the lymphatic system — pressure and direction are completely different from standard massage. Sam holds Level One certification.
