Chiropractic for Posture
Rounded shoulders, a head that sits forward of the body, a mid-back that aches by three in the afternoon. A chiropractic adjustment is a controlled, specific force applied to a joint that has lost part of its normal range of movement. Three CCO-registered chiropractors examine before they adjust.

Posture is a loading problem before it is a looks problem
Posture is the position your joints settle into when you stop thinking about them. Hold a position long enough and the tissue adapts to it: the muscles at the front of the chest and hips shorten, the ones across the mid-back and deep in the neck stop carrying their share, and individual spinal segments give up a few degrees of movement they are supposed to have.
The pattern is usually built by repetition rather than by one event. Desk hours, driving, carrying a toddler on the same hip, a training split that loads pressing far more than pulling, the lumbar and sacroiliac load of a pregnancy. None of that is unusual. What makes it clinical is the point where the surrounding tissue starts absorbing the work the stiff segment is no longer doing, and something begins to hurt.
That is the part chiropractic acts on. Restoring movement to the restricted segment and releasing the soft tissue holding it there changes how load distributes across the spine. It does not change bone shape, and it does not straighten a structural curve. The examination at your first visit separates what is changeable from what is not, and you are told which is which.
Concerns Chiropractic for Posture Treats

Forward head posture and neck pain
When the head sits ahead of the shoulders, the small joints at the base of the skull and the upper cervical segments carry a load they were not built for. Most patients arrive describing neck pain and stiffness rather than posture.
What a posture-focused chiropractic appointment involves
The first visit runs sixty minutes and is an examination, not an adjustment with paperwork attached. History and mechanism, red-flag screening, orthopedic and neurological testing, then postural and movement assessment. Your chiropractor explains what the exam found before anything is done.

When a chiropractor is not the right first call
Medical red flags
Suspected fracture, progressive neurological deficit, loss of bladder or bowel control alongside back pain, unexplained weight loss with back pain, or a sudden severe headache unlike any you have had. Any of these needs medical assessment before chiropractic care, and our intake screening is designed to catch them.
A progressing spinal curve
A rapidly progressing spinal curve in an adolescent calls for medical and orthopedic assessment. Chiropractic care can address the mechanical pain that accompanies a curve. It does not correct the curve itself, and claiming otherwise would be dishonest.
When another discipline leads
Broad muscular holding without a discrete joint restriction often responds better with a registered massage therapist leading. Return-to-activity programming belongs with Ramandeep Singh, MScPT. Whole-body compensation patterns belong with our osteopath, Dina Ibrahim, M.OMSc. All of them practice in this building, so the handover happens with your history already on file.
Three Doctors of Chiropractic at our Woodbridge clinic on Weston Rd
All three hold the DC designation and are registered with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, which is a legal requirement to practice here. A Doctor of Chiropractic is not a medical doctor, does not prescribe medication and does not perform surgery. Across the team there are eleven named adjusting and soft-tissue techniques, and the examination decides which one your case gets.
